Much of the appeal of staying at a New
England bed and breakfast lies in the
ambience created by beautiful decor. The
classic New England style represents a
unique blend of British Victorian formality
with a nautical, casual twist. The result of
this combination is both aesthetically
pleasing and surprisingly comfortable.
The Hampton Terrace Bed and Breakfast,
located in Lenox, in the heart of the New
England Berkshires, is finely decorated with
care. The furnishings for each guest room
and the main rooms are authentic and
beautiful. In the lounge, the bar is a
well-loved antique once belonging to the
innkeeper's grandfather. It is made of red
leather and glass, and still smells of
cigars and scotch. On the bar sits a 1920s
photo of the innkeeper's grandfather sitting
at that same bar, while at Cornell.
The home, after being owned by a New England
late 19th century society family, is a mix
of Dutch Colonial and Revival styles, with a
gambrel roof. The Main room and hall are
decorated with colors inspired by New
England's Brighton Beach. There are seven
fireplaces and mantels throughout the home,
and the living room features eight rare
crystal sconces. Photos from prior owners
adorn the home, and keep the New England
Berkshire history alive. We have
gorgeous guest rooms available in both the
Main House and the Carriage House. For a
truly special getaway, spend the week in one
of our King Suites. The suite features a
private entrance, a sitting porch, a living
room area with a fold-out couch, a
fireplace, a two-person 7' x 7' corner
Jacuzzi, a wet bar, a fridge, a four-poster
