Why it's called the Marion Slocomb Suite

inns-in-lenox-ma--king-suite-cottages--marion-slocomb-4King Suites are named after Innkeepers Susan and Stan’s grandmothers. Marion Slocomb (Winborn) was Susan's maternal grandmother. Marion was a fiesty, Southern redhead, married to Magruder Winborn.

Later, they moved to Poplarville, MS, where Susan, her mother and siblings lived with their grandmother while her father was stationed in Korea with the Army. The Slocombs lived for a century in the South, but when Susan and Stan moved to Massachusetts in 1999, they were returning to her roots.

“Thank you for sending me the article from the Berkshire Eagle about Kiri Te Kanawa. An amazing kindness and I am very grateful. Also, thank you for your hospitality and for answering my endless questions: but your answers enabled my friend and me to see and do everything we wanted during the weekend, and it was all just perfect. However, I am still working off the pounds from the blueberry tart. It was so fine then...it is not so fine around the waistline now. Thank you!”
