Why it’s called the Spencer Room
Main house rooms are named after former owners of this property. The earliest records for this property show that the first home was built by Edmund Spencer (1826-1894), a harness maker in 1852. It was replaced by a home built by R. S. Oliver in 1873. Mr. Spencer is buried in Lenox at the Church on the Hill cemetery.
Praise for Hampton Terrace
...Thank you so much for such a wonderful stay with your family in your inn. For a moment I thought I had walked into a Christmas story film. It was beautiful and is now a cherished memory. I look forward to my next stay, whether winter, summer, fall or spring (Vivaldi).
