Inspired by a postcard of a 19th century
ballroom, Hampton Terrace Bed and Breakfast
is furnished with vibrant colors and
hand-picked antiques. One of the most
elegant of the many New England inns, the
Hampton Terrace has a fascinating history
cloaked in mystery. During the late 19th and
early 20th centuries, families from the
famous Newport crowd built summer homes in
Lenox, Massachusetts, transforming the area
into a fabulous getaway destination.
Hampton Terrace, built in 1882 by the
Struthers family, was named Wynnstay. The
only other remaining history of the house is
a postcard from the 1920s, referring to the
house as Hampton Terrace Inn. There is also
a brochure, calling the Hampton Terrace the
"new Tanglewood." We are an authentic
New England inn with decor that will take
you back in time, but with modern amenities
and comforts you'd expect from a top-notch
B&B. The Main House, which was built in 1897
and completely renovated in 2000, offers a
decadent living room and lounge with
fireplace. We're proud to have combined
modern luxury with the romance of the Gilded
Age, making a stay here something you'll
never forget. Our rooms are decorated with
antiques, and are all equipped with TV/VCRs
and private baths. Many of our rooms offer
warm and romantic fireplaces, and all
feature a walk-in shower, a Jacuzzi or a
claw-foot tub. To show our
appreciation, with every off-season
two-night weekend stay we include a $30 gift
certificate to the Lenox Gourmet Food and
Wine Shop. We encourage you to contact us at
1-800-203-0656 or
info@hamptonterrace.com for more
details on the charming Hampton Terrace Bed
and Breakfast.
