Take the Mass Pike west to Exit 10 (about 2 hours from Boston). Follow 20 West through Lee and across the Lenox town line. Pass Cranwell Golf Resort on your right. Turn left at the second light (Hwy 183). We are 7/10 miles up on the right – the white house just beyond Morgan Manor Condominiums.
Take I-90 east toward Boston (it will become the Mass Pike at the border). Take Exit 10 in Lee. Follow 20 West through Lee and across the Lenox town line. (NOTE: There is a 20 West exit near Albany on I-90. DO NOT TAKE THIS. CROSS THE MASS BORDER FIRST and wait for Lee.) So, you are heading on 20 West away from Lee and toward Lenox. Pass Cranwell Golf Resort on your right. Turn left at the second light (Hwy 183). We are 7/10 miles up on the right – the white house just beyond Morgan Manor Condominiums.
Via The Taconic Parkway
From Manhattan, take the West Side Highway under the George Washington Bridge and follow the Henry Hudson north. It will become the Sawmill Parkway. Then exit to the Taconic Parkway. Follow the Taconic north for several hours and take the Hillsdale/Claverack exit, Highway 23 East. Head through Hillsdale and go into Great Barrington. At the stop light turn left, taking Highway 7 North, through Stockbridge, and into Lenox. At a major red light intersection, turn left on 7A and go 1 4/10 miles to Lenox town center. At the stop sign, turn right. In 50 yards, you will see Hampton Terrace on the left.
Via I-84 and Highway 8 North
(better roads): From Manhattan, take the Henry Hudson north to the Cross County Expressway east. After a couple of miles, there will be a massive left fork that becomes I-684 North. (From counties north of Manhattan, and from the east burroughs, get to I-684 the way you usually take.) After driving a while north on I-684, switch to I-84 East to Waterbury. At the big pretzel intersection, take the left turn onto Highway 8 North. Cross the Mass border and go through Otis. Beyond Otis, merge into Highway 20 West and continue through Lee and across the Lenox town line. Pass Cranwell Golf Resort on your right. Turn left at the second light (Hwy 183).
